Runways,
Ramps &
Taxiways

ATS Construction has been performing work for the Lexington Bluegrass Airport for more than 10 years. During this period, we have constructed safety areas on both ends of the main runway, constructed a new 4,000 foot general aviation runway and taxiway along with a 35,000 square yard apron area, and constructed a new parallel taxiway for the main runway.

ATS Construction has moved in excess of 2,000,000 cubic yards of rock and dirt, constructed over 30,000 square feet of retaining walls, placed in excess of 35,000 cubic yards of concrete and laid over 20,000 LF of storm lines during this time.

During the innovative resurfacing paving process of the main runway, ATS Construction laid approx. 61,150 tons of bituminous asphalt and 20,575 tons of stone in a single weekend shut down. This process took place with great care to safely coordinate the project between the airport, 2 asphalt plants, and 150 dump trucks transporting asphalt to the site.

In addition, ATS Construction has been awarded a contract to remove and replace approximately 15,000 square yards of concrete pavement in the ramp area of the main terminal to start in the spring of 2011.
